Project 1:compering old and new part
bottom left=bad, bottom right = bad
for the left, there is a lot of blur on the boards and sam is in the way of Maia who is meant to be the teacher and seen and there is only 3 people in the shoots making it look less like a classroom that is meant to have more students in it
with the right there is less blur on boards making them easier to see, plus sam is not blocking Maia anymore and she can now be seen plus since shelby is in the shoot makes it look more like a classroom now, since in the left picture there is only 3 people in the shoot
Project 1:Rotoscoping
Rotoscoping is a technique used by animators to trace over film footage frame by frame so that an animation can be used, this can be used for both live-action films and animation films (of course live-action would be recorded first then the animation would be applied.
Rotoscoping was invented by Max Fleischer who used in his own series called out of the inkwell which started airing around 1915
around 15 years later Rotoscoping was use in cartoons by Fleischer.
EXAMPLE OF ROTOSCOPING USED IN DISNEY, PREFORMED LIVE-ACTION FIRST THEN USED ROTOSCOPING TO DRAW OVER THE LIVE ACTION TO GET THE WANTED DISIGN

Project 1:green screen
What is a green screen? A green screen is a special effect and post-production technique that is for composing two images and videos streams together that is based on the chroma range(color hues)
The first ever type of use of a green screen was in 1898 in a film called for Heads Are Better Than One by Georges Melies, but back then the green screen had not been developed and Matting was used instead, this was known as travelling matte.
Then back in 1930 the bluescreen was developed and in 1940 the bluescreen was used in the Thief Of Bagdad to create a genie escaping from a bottle. Then in 1964 Petro Vlahos won a award for his use with motion control cameras alleviated for both foreground and background which could be filmed with the same camera. In 1980 the minicomputer was used in the controlling of the optical printer for The Empire Strikes Back.
A use of green screen was in the Avengers Assemble movie where a green screen was used in the background to show New York during the massive battle in the city, the green screen was really convincing, to be honest at first I didn't know it was a green screen and though it was a prop background.

P1. Working between Premiere and After Effects
ways of importing premiere to after effects
1: on premiere click file export then chose media and export it ,chose your desired setting save it then open it up with after effects
2: high-light the clips in the sequence, right click and click on replace with after effects composition, then after effects will ask you where to create the new project , after saving it will appear in after effects, but back in premiere it will be one clip so click undo to restore the sequence to individual clips, if there is any effects on the clip in premiere, they won't appear in after effects
3:move premiere to one half of the screen and after effects, then drag the sequence from premiere to after effects, then drag the sequence onto the comp button to create a composition for the sequence, if there are any changes/effects in premiere pro that are made after the sequence is in after effects, the changes will also happen in after effects
4: in after effects double click on the project panel, find the premiere project and click open, a dialogue box will appear, chose what you want and it will be in after effects

P1. Research and understanding mattes and matte painting
A Matte painting is a type of technique used in films to represent a landscape, set or a distant location that allows film-makers create an illusion of an open environment that doesn't exist or would be too expensive/impossible to shoot at.
Matte Painting is a very old technique that dates back to the Lumière brothers, and an early example of Matte painting was the creation of the train robbery back in 1903 where the technique was used to create the background for the outside of the window in the ticket office and later on in the film while the train was moving.
The first major use of the Matte painting was used by Norman Dawn ASC in the early 1900's. He had put seamless woven glass shoots into many of his films, and used glass shots to revolutionize the in-camera matte. Then in the 1920s the film stock began to rise and during this time a new technique known as Bi-pack camera method was introduced. Then in 1940 a major leap was made for Matting technique with the Thief of Bagdad which also introduced the blue-screen technique, then in 1977 there was a huge jump for matte painting when the first ever Star Wars move came out, A New Hope used Matte painting to make the Death Star scenery while Luke was piloting the X-wing. The final product for the Star Wars was a masterpiece in my view, the Death Star's laser tunnels were well made and still seem so realistic, the piece is very convincing, the artists who did this were extremely skilled.

Project 1:. ANIMATIC REVIEW
1 shoot length; the average length of time for my shots is 1-2 seconds long, and then there are some really long shoots, is best if i cut some of my shoots down and extend some of the shots to 2.5 seconds to get the 2 minute's that we originally needed to do
2 camera movement; the camera movements that our shown of our storyboard are shown moving on the animatic, all non-moving shoots are still and they do capture the viewer attention
3 sound levels; i wouldn't say the sound works with our sequence, since there isn't much sound if the video except from the voices and the ringtone
4 voice acting; yes, the voice acting is quit convincing and easy to follow but it could do with a touch up to make us sound more like our characters
5 VFX; yeah, but watching the animatic its really easy to see where the effects would be and could go, but some of the effects may be a bit of trouble to make and do but it is do-able
6 peer feedback; yes the sequence made sense to them and that they where interested in the story that me and my team had made and built up and how the animatic was put together.

1 what went wrong(shooting)
what i felt went wrong for shooting was the first clip where my hand was constantly moving, when i could of kept it still during the filming.
2 what i struggled with in after effects
what i struggled with was making the flame i made move along with my tumb, i found the track motion and having to move the flame clip by clip for the whole video to make the flame follow my tumb around the screen
3 what i need to learn
i fill like what i need to learn to have a bit more patience when using track motion and doing things clip by clip
4 what assets i need

Project 1:camera shots diagram
the line of action is a invisible line that runs though the actors and the camera is filmed on one side of this line, if the camera cuts to the other side it makes it look like the characters have moved when they haven't. its best to avoid going across the line of action unless the camera is slowing moving across the line so that the view knows that the characters are in the same place and haven't moved at all

Project 1:Team Persona's ; team production meeting
Date: 18/11/13
Present: Alex, Matt, and Sam.
Agenda: Assessment of scripts, Choice of script and Ideas for redrafting
· Read and filled in sheet about scripts. Have decided the strong and weak points of each one.
· After discussion have decided to blend elements from script 2 and 3 because they are similar and are relatively easy to do.
· All of us going to go away and re write our own interpretation of both of the scripts then we will come back with them and blend them all together into one final script.
What we have decided to put into the new script.
· Keep story line from script 3-idea of people dyeing and jay not knowing his power works well and gives us scope to make something good.
· Lecher takes revenge on people by absorbing their powers and this kills them.
· Jay starts dyeing but then finds out he can heal himself.

Project 1:. Research into Recording Foley Sound and Sound Effects
what is a foley artist and what do they do?
a foley artist is someone who recreates the sounds for a film that hare lost during the filming by using what ever items they can get their hands on to try and recreate the sound. Foley artists need to have a very creative mind and have a good scene of timing,
advantages to using real sounds than sounds on a library is that with real sounds you are moe likely to find something you want/need for the film, plus you can also record those sounds and put them into an editor and edit them a little and you can find some sounds you wouldn't expect to find that sound exactly what you are looking for
they first start off with the main characters (so the actors) then background footsteps then finally they do the prop pass(anything that moves on screen they make a sound for)
examples are for the sword noise in robin hood there as a old spatula and old sword rubbed against each other.
for the imperial walkers the sound used for them walking was the sound of sheet metal being cut

Project 1:Misfits Dialog
The purpose of the dialogue used is to introduce the characters and what they are like, to help build up the story of the show.
tone:playful,sarcastic,mocking,condescending.
accent : his accent is Irish, he has a soft rhythmic musical feel to his voice and this makes him classless.
vocal: involved, doesn't swear, witty, counter point
Simon

Gary
Classic chav or can also be called scum, he speaks with a lot of slang and doesn't speak in long sentences, most dialogue he uses is fairly simple.
Kelly
Kelly gives off that she is a chav because of her accent
she does talk like a chav but she claims she is not a chav, she speaks a bit like Gary in terms of accent but doesn't use same type of dialogue as Gary.

Curtis
He talks like he is very proud of him self, and the way he speaks sounds like he is trying to make him self look better than everyone else and tries to separate himself from the rest of his group with the way he speaks and what he says like asking if he can be moved into a different group.

Aleishia speaks like she doesn't want to be there. She is on her phone talking to her friend and the way she talks is slightly girly in a way, with the responses that she gives when asked if the Probation worker was fit or not.
Project 1:Drive
A geteaway driver (Ryan Gosling) is assisting two burglars on getting away from the place that was burgled. he has a strict rule he has that people have to follow, the people who are committing the crime has 5 minuets to commit the crime and get into his car to getaway or he will drive off and leave them.
purpose
the build is to build up tension for the viewer they do this by applying a only little information to the viewer, knowing that the police are looking for them but they don't have any idea where the police are except from the scene's where you can see the police drive by/ the helicopter hover over them. and with the help of a radio to hear what the police are saying to each other, but along with a baseball game radio broadcast, the view can see that the suspense is building along with the baseball game
the whole clip just gives us more questions than answers which is what helps build up the tension/suspense as the cops get closer and closer to find them in the car and that every second counts as represented by the watch ticking away as it ticks and the more it ticks the viewer can feel the suspense rising until it drops a bit when he turns into the stadium and gets out the car, the the suspense of the clip drops slightly.

Project 1:Recording Ambient Sounds and Dialogue
1:Recording Ambient Sounds
A: an Ambient sound recording is the Background noise from any locations E.G ambient sounds for a office would include people talking, phones ringing, maybe even the noise from printers, ambient sounds build up the atmosphere for any locations and that is what makes film locations seem more real
Reason that hard cuts are ill advised for ambient sound mixing is because the quality of the sound for two different clips may vary between the setups thought out the time period that the shooting was in because some small differences in the location may have an effect on the ambient sound
The advantages of shooting on location and not taking sound clips for a library is that while filming on a location you are more likely to get the sort of ambient sound you are looking for than from a sound library plus it maybe harder to find the sort of ambient sound you are looking for from a sound library than from a location recording
the sound engine that was used during the hunger games catching fire was Atmos
2:recording Dialog Dialogue
what is looping: Looping is when a recording of the actor when they are saying their lines in sync of the images which is played over and over again with a matching of length of the footage.
ambient noise is important during dialogue because the ambient sound helps provide the atmosphere for the story, it builds up the tention, the drama, it helps makes the story have an affect on the viewer, if there was just dialogue that impact wouldn't be the same and the viewers would be as interested in whats going on.
reason why dialogue is hard to record on location is because of the intrusion of unwanted noises during the filming, if they actors are speaking while recording and there is a noise that wasn't meant to be in the film it can ruin the whole clip and they have to speak again. this can be over come with the use od dubbing the clips, so get the actors to record in a studio, this helps get rid of this problem, but sometimes the dubbing can make the film look worse

Project 1:composing music
han and Christopher worked together in creating the piece, Christopher would send han, small scene, screen shoots of the Joker, so han could get a fill of the character, and han would talk to christopher about his ideas for the theme of the joker.
sort of quality han wanted was razor blades,on strings, more and more tention and with the punk influence that was in the character of the joker. he wanted it to be a minimal thing
han intention when creating the sound track was to create sometime new, different from what most bad guys have, he wanted the feel of anarchy to do, and found these two notes clashing with each other, and every second it builds up more tention and more tention as the two notes go on. Han wanted something people could hate, he didn't want a happy summer blockbuster.
the final score worked well with the joker for the Dark Knight, i fill like it works cause it sums up the Joker as a character, its always building up tention, you don't know whats going to happen next, anything could happen within the next few seconds, it just sounds like total anarchy, which is a good personification for the joker, since he follows his own rules. plus the piece has a dark fill to it, which is kind of the point Dark Knight to be dark, and thats why i think this piece works.

Project 1:Bravery
it was 10;00 am, first Period for Jay, his class just had a small introduction session where people introduce himself, Jay really didn't want to do it cause he wasn't sure on what his power was, but somehow he managed to skip his go and just let the class move on. it was now time for his classes newly voted class representative to introduce him self because he was late and miss the start, 'Hey mine name is Edward , I've already been here a year but being held back, i will be representing our class in all kinds of matter, and my power is electrokinesis so i can create and control electricity world a warning, if any one in our class attacks/bullies or does anything against the school rules, I WILL FIND YOU, AND I WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL, well thats all, please enjoy your time an Meriweather academy" Edward walked to his seat, which was located near Jay.
rest of Jay's day went on really lowly and he just sat in his seat doing his work while the people around him messed around a bit, Jay turned and looked at Edward and saw his easy going face had turned into one full of hatred and anger, Jay could tell it was best to follow the rules and avoid him.
it was lunch time and Jay was heading to the cafeteria, but on his was there he noticed the Pyomacer was getting money of all the other new kid, Jay tried to avoid him on his way into the cafeteria but the Pyomancer shoot a fire ball at Jay, nearly hitting Jay's head, Jay could fill the head still from when it rushed passed his head.
"hey newbe I'm Adrian the guy who runs this academy, come here an give me your money, i've got nothing to buy lunch with" said Adrian Jay started to shake out of fear, he never had bullies at his old school and didn't know how to react, "let me say it again, give me your money or next time i will not mis your stupid head''', Jay just looked down at his hand and saw the money he had for lunch, Adrian ot impatient and walked up to Jay and grabbed his collar, Jay looked down at his other hand and a giant fire-ball was forming, Jay closed his eyes and hoped for the best, next thing he knew he heard what sounds like a bolt of Lighting and saw Edward* standing there with sparks of electricity,
"Hey Jay, If you want to survive you need to use your power, and before you say you don't know if you have one, you can manipulate space/time and change what reality is ' said Edward

Project 1:Point Break Sound
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8X-YyW-Usc
to import stuff we click on edit then select import then find the files that we would like to use and then premier imports them into our workstation
the prodject was to add the audio we where give to the video we had to make it look like a real scene from a movie
to make a sequence from clip you simply right click the audio or video you got and select make sequence from this clip
the piece of work i made i would give a 4/5, its sounds really good and I like it
i could improve it changing the levels of sound more for the breathing to make it more realistic and i forgot to put in the first chains sound and only put the second one in,
my favourite parts I did was the explosion part where i had it start of quiet then one the close up mad it louder and afterwards I had it get more quiet as they got further away from it to make it more realistic and my other favourite part was the part with the smashing though the window and they crashing onto the table
